Welcome To Combe Sports Club
Combe junior sports club was founded in 1997, by five village housewives, who wanted to set up a football team for their sons to play in, without having to go to nearby towns.
The club was set up as a sports club as opposed to a football club as it was felt at the time, interest in other sports may develop with the children and adults.
Since 1997 we have successfully run junior football teams at all age groups, as well as several adult teams. This has led to the growth of junior cricket, which started in 1999, as a number of junior footballers wished to continue sport through the summer months.
The Club has, and will always provide the opportunity to play sports in the village for the local children, and children from surrounding areas and has progressed to being an FA Charter Standard club. This ensures children will always be provided with a well organised and friendly club, that is run by fully qualified coaches.
All the junior football teams play in the Witney & District Youth leagues and the junior cricket teams play competitive cricket in the Oxfordshire Cricket Board and run competitions during summer. Due to junior sport success, we also have adult football teams which play in the Witney & District leagues with the first team playing in the Premier division and the reserves in division 4.
